@collective_truth@mastodon.social That's a good, valid point. I don't share the same experience, but I can see it happening with other people. It wasn't always like that though, was it? I mean, if you look into what #SocialTools did in the late 90s and early 00s they would probably align more with what you're hinting above. Now that we've lost them, both "older" and younger generations don't want to invest much energy, effort and intent when they know algos run the system. Don't see that happen in #Fediverse.

I think we do have plenty of people "already there" (in my eyes) and "made it" as far as #software, #tools and having enough #fans, a #tribe, #following etc - But somehow the people-loving side or ironically communication sides are still the vital Tetris piece missing from all these below! #Eugene [#Mastodon], #Dansup [#Loops], #RichardStallman [#GNU] #AralBalkan [#SmallTech] #Jitsi [instant browser chat in 3-clicks] (will update more as I think more)
