My wife recently had a hearing test and we found out that she, like me, really needs hearing aids. (As a rock and roll player, my loss is obvious and has been treated for 7 years.) There is a well-established tie between anxiety and hearing loss that might be worth looking into. It might exacerbate menopause issues of the kinds you are discussing.

What I noticed with anxiety was the cyclical fluctuation; zero most of the time and then super anxious a few days out of the month. So a definite hormonal component. HRT leveled everything out. But I’ve noticed in my mom for example, increased anxiety over the past year, and she just had her annual heating test and now needs hearing aids. I will keep it in mind as I continue to celebrate more birthdays!
