Aaaand right on cue, exactly the sort of rhetoric we *already* know doesn’t engage voters. As someone who has voted D consistently, I’d like to see electable candidates with an actual differentiated vision.
This is a pre-defeated narrative designed to apportion and deflect responsibility and blame.

The centrist narrative is vacuum sealed: The voters’ one job is unify around centrists. Therefore if a non-centrist runs and loses, it’s voters’ fault. If a centrist runs and loses it’s also voters’ fault. If a non-centrist runs and wins, it’s an unreplicable fluke and also radical and alienating.
