@gusdelsur@mastodon.social Most smartphones don't allow using another OS. Most of the ones permitting it cripple functionality including security if one is used.
Most computers including a large portion of smartphones lack of ongoing firmware security updates which we can't solve for those. It's quite important to have security updates for GPU, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, NFC and UWB radio firmware along with other components exposed to attacks.
Most smartphones lack features we use to protect users too.

@gusdelsur@mastodon.social We have a non-exclusive partnership with Motorola Mobility (Lenovo) to bring GrapheneOS to future devices from them providing all of our hardware requirements and official GrapheneOS support. They'll provide us with the driver and firmware support we need without us needing to reverse engineer stock OS code and extract firmware, configurations, driver libraries, etc. from factory images. It will start with flagships since they'll be the first with what we need but will expand.
