How do they all throw these grandiose statements around that are absolutely unfounded?
Guys like this are living in a completely different reality than me. I would not even know how to have a serious conversation with them.

@duke_of_germany@mastodon.gamedev.place @MaddieM4@raphus.social I've interacted with one of these in real life, and he held these two things to be true: one, the quality of his code basically doesn't matter because the product his company sells is pointless anyway. Two, only people who can "do the work of a thousand programmers" will get to keep their jobs. Basically it's rooted in a mindset of being completely detached from material reality. To paraphrase, "nothing needs to work and you need to make as much of it as possible."
