Speaking of salmonella, measles, cyclospora and other stuff returning to the US on #MAGA policies, we should keep in mind their ideology is at core Darwinian. For them it’s not policy mistake return to “normal” - “survival of the fittest”, “dog eat dog”, “greed is good” etc There’s an obvious contradiction here - “survival of the fittest, but not for my precious kids”. In these circles this has been solved by simple hypocrisy - say one, then secretly vaccinate them. Condemn abortion, but “it’s my daughter, it’s a special situation” etc I think what really pisses them off is when these simple achievements become available for the general public as a simple civilisation baseline, just like available accommodation or food.That completely breaks the whole elitist sentiment their ideology is based on.
