I used to get death threats for bugs in Charybdis in my PM's on IRC. This regularly fucking happens to software maintainers.

Whilst I don't endorse full-force vibecoding and putting your brain on complete autopilot... I also do not blame maintainers who have thanklessly maintained bullshit and gotten death threats, smear campaigns, entitled users, security "researchers" looking for a payout or to chase clout, etc., if they use an LLM. Again, not because I endorse it. But, because you know what? If you didn't want them to use an LLM, then why didn't you offer to help, eh? "I wasn't aware--" Oh bullshit. Maintainers have been talking about this for years. I'm friends with some of them. They complain constantly. I maintain some Rust libraries and I have to deal with bullshit. I think if you expect maintainers to maintain things by hand thanklessly and put up with all this bullshit with no compensation and that is the way the world should work, then you reap what you sow.
