Ok I've been trying to not let this get to me but this is ridiculous Did anyone else with a vehicle at #emfcamp get approached by a kid asking for a go claiming that they were trying to have a go on every vehicle at EMF? They asked for a go on the C5 promising they'd be very short, to the end of the road and back, so I let them, thankfully I had the foresight to turn off the power and just let it be pedal powered They got to the end of the road and continued, so I followed and lost them, and couldn't find them for 15 minutes when it turned back up at the Nottinghack village, they were very meek about where they had been and I just told them off, they smiled and asked if they could have another go and ofc that was a no Fortunately for them, I didn't notice that the break assembly was LYING ON THE FUCKING FLOOR, being dragged by the cable, on closer inspection it has obviously been flipped and crashed on to it's left side with gouges out of the plastic body (these CANNOT BE REPAIRED) I have just spent the night servicing it, and sigh, yeah, damage all down the left hand side, left rear wheel cover is chewed up when it was pretty pristine, break disk is buckled (thankfully this is a retrofit, but still, how tf do you do that) bits are missing (rear mast grommets and battery holder clip) and there's an issue with the motor I am still tracking down This really made me reach my limit, does anyone know this kid? I want to at least get them reported to EMF

That C5 has been 20 fucking years of dreaming, 18 months of hard work and thousands of pounds spent, but to be honest what I find even worse it's a rare, historical artefact that is now permanently and irreversibly damaged If that kid had just admitted and apologised that they got carried away and crashed, I'd be totally fine, upset, but mistakes happen; the fact there was 0 fucking acknowledgement, and even the cheek to ask for another fucking go? I am so fucking lost for words And how braindead do you have to be to not notice the brakes aren't attached anymore, fucking incredible

@crashtestdev@woof.tech I came over to show you a photo of my grandma in a C5. This is a real kick in the chest and I’m just on the periphery of this so I can absolutely understand how much of a betrayal this feels. Reading your other updates m, I’m glad you are feeling a bit better about it, but honestly this sucks badly. Fighting entropy is bad enough without people actively helping it along. Hope things get better
