@xgranade@wandering.shop It helped that I was already skeptical of anything the tech bros are jerking themselves off over, because the last several hype cycles made it pretty clear that the industry has pivoted to fraud and lies as a business model (crypto, nfts, metaverse) & that's on top of them having already by that point become overwhelmingly anti-human-rights, anti-privacy, pro-authoritarianism, and anti-labour-rights. So... my default position was "who are they trying to fuck over with this one?"
