It is so common to see internalized homophobia because most Indonesian gays have suppressed their own sexuality thinking being gay is sinful and bad.

I have met a lot Indonesian gays who are closeted and deeply in fear of being found out. They also have prejudice and hatred to the queer community because they have been taught to hate the "gay propaganda" of the west. But they are gay themselves.
