I believe I have a diagnosis for my mom's AC. Corroded compressor terminals. One wire corroded completely off. Three-terminal device with only two terminals connected.
There are all sorts of compressor repair kits on the market. Going to recommend this one and see whether Mom approves. Still cheaper than a service call. And you know if someone came out, they would tell her she needs a new system.
There is no room to work on this thing. I had to reach in with my phone, take a picture, then work mostly by feel.

@craig_groeschel@zeroes.ca Reminds me what I did every shift maintaining manufacturing plants, not directly visible and corrosion everywhere🫠 If enough copper is left, I would take sandpaper cloth and make that copper shiny, then strip back the copper wire and also clean up the stands with sandpaper, then crimp on new connectors. Half hour job.
