I can’t imagine anyone doing a century without stopping, (except the truly exceptional riders aiming to break records.) If you’re going to stop, build a hearty snack or meal into it. An hour’s rest + refueling makes a huge difference

Getting back on the bike hurt! and that was when I was 26. Unless it's a social ride I prefer to keep moving. For races that's imperative. But for all long rides eating and drinking is important. If you get behind on either its hard to catch up.
