My final review on Devuan: It is fine. It is just Debian without systemd. If I had strong feelings about systemd (which I might in the future), I would probably use it instead. The best part about it is it is still Debian. Functions pretty much the same. Works great, just different. The worst part is the community has a lot of conspiracy types who think Debian is too "woke." It makes interacting with the community difficult. #Devuan

@TerminalTilt@social.terminaltilt.com The community is such that... honestly I'll just jump through the hoops of a systemd-less install of debian, if that's what I reallly want... last I looked they still had sysvinit and openrc packages you can switch to pretty easily.

@TerminalTilt@social.terminaltilt.com Technically, Devuan is close to Debian, but it's not simply "Debian without systemd" – because it consciously gives you back the freedom of choice of the init system, and that is the core of it. In the technical channels and forums, it's almost all about practical solutions, not about worldviews.
