My digital sovereignty stack in 2026:
Laptop OS: Linux (Fedora 44) :fedora:

E-Mail: Self hosted dovecot/opensmtpd server
File storage/sync: Nextcloud (Selfhosted)
Contacts/Calendar: DAVx5 (Nextcloud backend)
Camera Roll/Photos: Immich (selfhosted)
Document storage: Paperless NGX (selfhosted)
Bookmark storage: Kollect (my own self-developed and self-hosted app)
Browser: Vivaldi (Linux, Android) :vivaldi:
Mail-Client: Thunderbird (Linux, Android)
My phone has Google Play Services and a locked bootloader. But that's a pragmatic decision, since I rely on apps that require attestation (Banking, etc). I don't use any of the Google cloud products and host my data myself (Calendar, Contacts, Mail, Photos) in open source solutions under my sovereignty.

@Larvitz@burningboard.net Same decision here: I have installed the Play Services because I have no desire to experiment with banking apps bank, etc. Maybe they work today with a Custom ROM without Google Play Services or MicroG, but this can change tomorrow. I have no Google account configured on my phone. I install my apps via F-Droid, if possible, otherwise Aurora. Selfhosting Nextcloud, Firefox Sync Server, Immich, E-Mail with a German provider (own domains).
