RAM density looks absolutely abysmal. The chip only has 224 bytes (yes, bytes) of SRAM, taking about the same area as the whole datapath of the CPU core.

Mask ROM is, of course, much denser, but they still had to be creative with layout. Contact size seems to be the main issue here.
