Boggles my mind how myopic the media gets these days. “54 year old restaurant chain closing” with barely a word in the articles about why this is likely happening. Purchasing power is shot. Inflation is bad. The price of eating out is insane right now. Most people simply can’t do it on a regular basis. The idea that a mediocre mid-tier joint is gonna be doing well right now is laughable. 🧵 1/2

I’m more shocked by the fact something like Red Lobster keeps being reincarnated and saved from death. Ok, time for a media block again. Read a few articles and they just reminded me what an absolute mess the general masses are in the USA. Getting almost zero good info, barely a blip of history, just endless FUD. I’m impressed when people can get anything positive happening these days. 🧵 2/2
