@NetscapeNavigator@social.vivaldi.net Argumentum ad populum. Something being popular is not the same thing as it being correct. And I'm not sure it's even popular. Based on the PR diff, it looks more like a Mastodon programmer simply made a wrong assumption. It's an easy mistake to make, so the Misskey devs probably made the same mistake too. The mainstream projects don't have issues because neither of them allows non-expiring polls. But that doesn't mean non-expiring polls are invalid. @ClearlyClaire@mastodon.social @ppb1701@ppb.social

  • @argv_minus_one@mastodon.sdf.org Who says Mastodon and Misskey don't have this feature? We literally have someone in this thread claiming to be a Mastodon developer who says the frontend option was missing. I'm also using Misskey 2026.7.0-beta.5 (the latest release), and it works. I can vote from Mastodon in Misskey or Misskey to Mastodon. As I said... this all seems nuts. I'm opting out of this thread. If both Mastodon and Misskey wish to accommodate Sharkey .... That's nice. @ClearlyClaire@mastodon.social @ppb1701@ppb.social
