Atheism is the belief in the absence of something.
That is called subtraction in math.
One must believe they are an atheist to do the math.

@Jazone@theforkiverse.com It is not a belief system. Need to have a special atheist day set aside? Need to have a particular book to dictate your thoughts or behaviours? Need to be part of an organisation? It is not a belief system.

@Jazone@theforkiverse.com @mathzy@mastodon.green Atheism is the absence of theism, not the belief in the absence of something. The former doesn't make a negative assertion, while the latter does. Atheism does not specify whether someone believes that a God does not exist or whether they belief it is unknown. Agnosticism specifies that further by saying it is unknown.
