To add yet another thing that has been bothering me of the AI hype is that I'm normally not tech conservative at all. I've never had a problem with big changes if they were done in good faith and had an eye on improvement. Like, I didn't have really big issues with systemd, or wayland for that matter, even welcoming them as I saw what they were improving. And now AI comes in and puts me in a position where people can claim that I'm afraid of progress... Fuck that, I'm not afraid of progress, the AI boosters are not capable of recognising actual progress.
