Lots of "ethics aside" people announcing their conscientious boycotts of Codeberg in my feed today, like I didn't have plenty of reasons to love Codeberg already.

Taking a stand against slop is a "slippery slope," you see, according to the people who decided to ride the slippery slope of the climate, economic, social and mental health red flags of LLMs all the way to the moon. Get tae fuck. Get it in your heads that we don't want your ontological microplastics polluting our communities, because unlike you we actually thought through the consequences.

@bodil@social.treehouse.systems I really want to migrate there but they use the default Go user agent and my current hosting provider blocks that because it’s basically only used for bad things. I might just copy issues and releases over manually.

@bodil@social.treehouse.systems Sounds like there is a market for someone to download Forgejo, fire it up on a server, and market that to the Slop Brothers. But I guess they would need some LLM to tell them how first.

@bodil@social.treehouse.systems These people not just put ethics aside they also put logic aside. Because if you don't care about the ethics, the community, the independents from big tech why are you so keen on hosting your project on #codeberg? You can just stay on GH or any other platform that shares your (non) values.
