Jointed track and speed indicator clicking ASMR day We’re traveling ~5 hours through the Swedish inland where villages are far apart and 1000 inhabitants is a big place. Inlandsbanan was built to connect these places, so darned it we’re going to use it. It’s a touristic service nowadays rather than a practical commute, but who can really complain about a timetable with 20 minute coffee breaks anyways?

@stefanlindbohm@mastodon.social I am taking it the last two days it runs this season, after taking the inaugural Oulu–Haparanda train, and overnighting in Gällivare. Gällivare–Östersund on August 11 and then the next day Östersund–Mora–Östersund. I booked seats, but sadly I could not find any seat map of the rolling stock used (Y1, I guess). You wouldn't happen to know which seats are at the openable windows? I would much prefer a such, for photography. Did other passengers complain about noise and cold air when somebody opened a window? #Inlandsbanan
