Soft forks i.e. disabling as much as possible is a stopgap that will get harder over time. Maintaining a hardfork base that ruthlessly cuts out stuff and attempts to hold onto it's own security will take a village I'm not sure we can find (but if we could, things could get incrementally better - maybe?) Servo has a village, but is on the other side of the functionality gap. Would you rather spend your hours funding new human written code, or on the elimination of generated garbage?
