Current status: supremely annoyed at WordPress's half-baked concept of "child themes"; or else maybe the "twentytwentytwo" theme is particularly unhappy to be living in 2026.

@kboyd@phpc.social ahh child themes are interesting. It's somewhat of a relic before page builder themes where a thing. But they make a ton of sense when you have a traditional theme with normal templates and not a page builders. Being able to update the parent theme and not wipe out the customizations is great.
