I've been watching a stream of the latest Voices of the Void update, and it looks like it was made by people who are too young to remember the devices it depicts. You have to use a 3.5″ floppy disk to move data between computers. The tower PC clearly has a 3.5″ floppy drive, but the disk is too big to fit in it, and when you use it, it goes into what looks like a CD-ROM drive. It goes in upside-down (spindle up), and then ejecting it pushes it out label-up but with the business end pointing towards you. You also have to ship some reel-to-reel tapes. When the tape is full of data, both reels are full of tape, and you have to put both of them in a container and then ship the container. These smack of just not knowing how these things work. But even so, I wouldn't put it past the developers to make them work wrong deliberately just to troll players.
