Here’s a thought that might get some result long term to control police violence against the public. Anytime there is an officer involved shooting resulting in death, all police officers in the same police force take a 10% cut in pay. Make it a part of the union contract. Offset this with a bonus when no shooting occurs for a specified time period. My thinking is that officers who turn a blind eye to excessive force may feel differently when it affects their own paycheck

@CivilityFan@sfba.social Interesting idea. Easier said than done. Police departments run a kind of protection racket. They will harass political opponents in their communities.
