I like keeping old tech as long as possible. My desktop PC is a Dell Optiplex 9020, which I intercepted on its way to e-waste from a local primary school. Maybe a 2013 model. I just did a bit of minor maintenance, replacing the CMOS battery. Now I don't have to manually select UEFI mode at every boot. Previously I souped it up a bit, adding a SSD. There was no slot for an additional device and I wanted to keep the big drive, so the SSD just floats between the drive bay and the CPU fan. Seems to be a perfectly cromulent way of doing it. #RightToRepair

    @AvonVilla@aus.social Velcro is your friend! :) Over the years I’ve stuck a few SSD’s inside PC cases where there wasn’t a proper mounting bracket available.
