The doctor hears the organ music and/or screaming and knocks on the millionaire's door, explaining that he's organizing a search party to find whoever has left the room in hopes that they can save someone from dying. Both agree to his plan and wander around with guns being suspicious of each other.

The doctor (I think) wanders into the room with the dead wife and we learn they faked her death. They have an illicit love affair involving a rube goldberg plan in which they will frighten Nora with fake supernatural nonsense in order to kill the millionaire husband so they can inherit millions of dollars and also kiss. #monsterdon
