@countrymetalhead@someplace.social I grew up being told it was witchcraft and I wasn't allowed to read it. I'm reading it now whether anybody likes it or not. Also, cool trick, the spell they use for light actually works to turn on your phone's flashlight

@evilcookies98@mastodon.stickbear.me It does indeed. And yeah, I dealt with a LOT of parents like yours when I was a readers' advisor in Washington. I had to explain to them that if their kids ordered something, we sent it, and any issues the parents had with it weren't our concern. Parents hated that, especially the extremely religious ones...But, as part of the library system we were under, that was the deal. Admittedly, I was a little uncomfortable when a 12-year-old subscribed to Playboy in braille, but again, we couldn't stop him...That was between him and his parents.
