I overheard someone mention that they were glad that I was taking the time to help a man at work. I asked why, and I found out that everyone has been sending people to me, for the reason that I never yell or raise my voice or express irritation with people. Around the office I’m known as the guy you send the dumbest people to, when they’ve done something unforgivably stupid, because I don’t make them feel bad. Is that something to put on my resume? #watercooler

@petes_bread_eqn_xls@mastodo.neoliber.al being kind and easy to work with are major skills that go unspoken far too often in my opinion... but word DOES gets around as you've experienced. people will always remember how you made them feel. I would consider that a huge asset and be proud of that personally.

Related, I'm a busker in the subway and yesterday after 2 hours of singing I was leaving, and one of the staff I passed stopped me and told me that my voice calmed her. When things got chaotic she would listen to me and feel better. Wow was that a compliment I enjoyed. Be the peace we want to see in the world.
