How do people navigate the “we don’t provide phones and having a phone is a condition of your employment” problem?
Previous employer used to provide company cellphones and it was mildly irritating to tote both around. One day they realized they could offload the whole management problem onto the employees by making them install The App. The App could of course factory reset your phone.

@MsMerope@sfba.social @miah@hachyderm.io @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org The assumption was that your personal data was “backed up to the cloud”. There was no discussion about “hey we are thinking about doing this thing” it was just presented as a fait accompli and your choice was to install The App or leave.
