@ajn142@infosec.exchange this may be true if the network connection is depending on user log in ( quite usual for 802.1x networks for macOS) . For most common mdm’s a Mac at home WiFi network or cabled network: the Mac wil regularly (like every few hours) check in if power allows even when sleeping.

@Maurits@hachyderm.io good callout. We are 802.1x on the wired network, I know we’ve got a cert in place to get WiFi at the login screen, and I can see these devices simimultaneously checking in with our SIEM and pulling DHCP leases, and not checking in to Jamf.
