@HeavenlyPossum@kolektiva.social oh, I would say more like summer of 1932. Hitler peaked. His popularity drops a ton, November election results are very bad for Nazi party. His demand to be appointed Chancellor is granted because he is now so unpopular, therefore perceived weak. January he seizes power, issues a decree to arrest political opponents and by March 1933 Dachau is filling with anyone who dared to organize against him. Dec 1931 Hitler's "final solution" was leaked to the press. Like how Trump's plan to deport 10 million into camps keeps floating up. Germans were dropping support for him all the next year. He took power because the election results were against him. So he declared emergency, filled camps, ran the last election with all his opponents murdered or imprisoned to be murdered. The parallel is nearly exact.
