@BathysphereHat@mastodon.online ...and eat right, but as with you, joint pain from arthritis made weight loss hard. His doctor prescribed Wegovy so that he could have rapid weight loss to help with his joints. That and a knee replacement and he's back to hiking!
On the side of medication shortages, it's a problem manufactured by Big Pharma. The solution is to make the government force Big Pharma to produce more, as with the Covid vaccines. They need to meet demand.
And in the here and now my neighbor's A1c...

@BathysphereHat@mastodon.online ...went down from prediabetic range to normal, along with all his other bloodwork looking vastly better. His doctors are thrilled. That's a whole case of Type 2 diabetes prevented, right there. So it actually saved diabetes medication in the long run. In any case, it's as you say: people (especially celebrities we don't now anything about) should make decisions with their doctors, not with the internet's judgment.
