I cannot figure out if understanding programming no longer matters or matters more than ever.
And the worst part is every response I might get to this will somehow make it more unclear.

@mattiem@mastodon.social It's never been a better time to get good at understanding programming. You will have a lot of value as the engineer who can clean up LLM messes, and who can still think for themself when the cloud LLMs have to actually cover their costs and everyone's token budget shrinks by an order of magnitude
