I just received a refund from Jefferson Health for a three-figure sum they had improperly charged me for an X-ray two full years ago. Two years. If I had taken anywhere near that long to pay them, they probably would have sent my account to collections and gotten a judgement against me to garnish my wages or some such abuse. This system is so f'd.
