An update: so I spent literally 8 hours yesterday going back and forth between California department of HCAI, SDSU’s registrar office, and three different faculty members with my college. this is after already spending a whole damn week fussing trying to get it resolved. All parties just said they can’t do anything - HCAI can’t issue payment without signature or accept alternative form verifying registration, Registrar can’t sign it because it says “currently enrolled” and not “scheduled to be enrolled” or “registered” on the form. This all played out over emails and phone calls. This morning, three more hours of back and forth, and suddenly, the registrar spoke to the HCAI team like I suggested a fucking week ago, and decided, oh, it’s just a typo, I can sign the form if you bring it into the office. Finally, maybe I can finally stop fearing that I’m going to get a $5,600 bill dropped in my lap suddenly that would break our finances! I drive literally 55 minutes across the county to the office at the university…and there’s a courteous little sign informing me that the office closed early at 12 pm for a “staff retreat” today…. …explain to me why I am not allowed to do crimes again?
