Also a new cafe has opened in my city. Locally owned, employees are lovely. The only hitch is that the owners refuse to serve tea and I am currently tempted to pop down there with my card table, tablecloth, tea pot, tea cups and set up on the footpath, enjoying a brew and a book in gentle protest. Any suggestions to make my little tea party protest for one a bit more cosy or flamboyant. would be welcome.* 😂 *Please note this post is written in total good humour, not ire. The cafe is a huge asset to the city. I just wish they'd serve tea so I can enjoy it more. (But if they don't, that's totally their prerogative.) #tea #coffee

@georgepenney@sunny.garden : If you have some dolls they *love* tea parties, and very much add to the whimsy.

@georgepenney@sunny.garden why on earth would they not want to serve tea? Is not like it is difficult to add to the menu. You don’t need a tea barista, just hot water and a selection of teabags in an air proof container. Even in DK most cafes, restaurants and even music venues will put the kettle on if I ask them nicely. Often they won’t have really nice teas but at least I can get a basic English breakfast or some forest fruit selection (does anyone like “forest fruit” flavored tea? My theory is that it coffee drinkers that buy those because they can fathom that anyone could like tea flavored tea). Sorry I got a bit ranty on your neighborhood cafe and specific sort of tea served in DK, i really find their refusal to serve tea odd. What rationale could explain this?

@georgepenney@sunny.garden Reminds me of the Tea Monk from Becky Chambers “A Psalm for the Wild Built”. Hope you enjoy your tea party
