Also, I suppose you could flip it and say I'm being judgmental of conservatives in the same way, but that's really who Jesus was negging on in the parable. All the fine and comfortable pious people of his own faith walking past someone in need as though they saw nothing. Yet a foreigner with no connection, not reason to help was kinder than his own.

I just hope you didn't think it was snark for the sake of it. I just really liked the way it skewered inherent racism and xenophobia (even if it is Jesus who's the source in this retelling). Anyway, long story short: Neither Mormons nor the Salvation Army support the natural interpretation of the parable. They've got their own, different ideas of Jesus and his message (or at least what's written in the Bible...)
