@obscurestar@mastodon.social @RnDanger@infosec.exchange @benlockwood@ecoevo.social Sorry, the vid was totally at odds with what you were saying (Jesus was a good guy and he valued even "foreigners"). I just hope you didn't think it was snark for the sake of it. I just really liked the way it skewered inherent racism and xenophobia (even if it is Jesus who's the source in this retelling).
Anyway, long story short: Neither Mormons nor the Salvation Army support the natural interpretation of the parable. They've got their own, different ideas of Jesus and his message (or at least what's written in the Bible...)

@muddle@infosec.exchange @RnDanger@infosec.exchange @benlockwood@ecoevo.social Nah. Not at all. I do have a very negative view of US Christians. I was raised Southern Baptist (You know, the sect that schismed from the main Baptist congregation to enshrine slavery in their worship) Growing up, it seemed the more pious someone claimed to be, the less like Jesus they acted. It's a funny skit and how I imagine MAGA would justify their hate of woke-Jesus today. It also let me look at my own biases, which I appreciate. Demonization sucks.
