As someone who's used both Arch, and Gentoo, people really do talk about Arch like it's Gentoo. This lead me to thinking (falsely) that it'd be like Arch, but longer install times. Arch has never broken my entire DE on an update before :D Granted, this is because I'm using GNOME with OpenRC, and Some Shit happened with this update, but still. I've been installing KDE since this morning, so... we'll see how that goes. Laptop's ~8 years old, so it may run well, it may run so poorly I'll be installing XFCE tomorrow
