My trust in social media and casual "friends" is again shaken after finding out that a recent rather large purchase for my son will require as much (or maybe more) $ to repair. Given my living situation and recent health issues, it's fair to say that failure of proper due diligence might have cost our family a pretty penny and a friend. I don't forgive easily especially if I suspect deception.
