The phone functionality of the iPhone is not great. If your phone rings, and you want to reject the call, the only option is to slide to answer the call. There is only that one control on the whole big screen, they didn’t find place for a second, red button or slider to reject the call. At least in the screenshot, apparently when you’re in another call, at least there’s a decline option.

  • Theoretically that’s only if it’s coming in while The phone is locked so you don’t accidentally answer or ignore it while trying to fish your phone out of your bag or pocket. If you have a call come in while using it there is a separate button. As the other commenter said, you can technically still press the side button to ignore a call, but I get that it doesn’t address your issue.
