@notjustbikes@social.notjustbikes.com I get why you didn't mention it, but something might have happened the year after that report was published... Elsewhere in the world covid accelarated urban transformations (at least in the short term). Curious how (if at all) this inpacted Amsterdam' s plans

  • @speculationfictive@union.place I didn't see any noticeable change before or after covid. There were a couple of places where bikes were moved to the road to make the sidewalks larger for social distancing (which were removed afterwards), but otherwise, plans pretty much proceeded as usual. I think the cities that did extra urbanism during covid were the ones that could never get anything done, politically, and used covid opportunistically. That wasn't necessary in Amsterdam.
