@veronica@explains.social I hope blatant sexism is not their only reasoning process because in that case how on earth do they explain songs from Blondie, Fleetwood Mac, Heart, The Bangles, Starship (or a bunch of other groups with female leads on earworm inducing songs I heard while growing up). Not to say that any of those bands couldn't perform the pop-y stuff when the wanted to either.
