@hannorein@mastodon.social University admins are job placement programs for MBAs these days Also, industry nearly completely captured research in universities during the last 25 years. They pour money into graduate labs because they get PhD level talent for peanuts, partially subsidized by taxpayers and student tuition. Higher education is completely cooked because they are addicted to revenue streams tied to corporate profits that can vanish suddenly once the tech bubbles burst
