@azonenberg@ioc.exchange agreed. I guess I find the make believe BS exhausting. Here colocating nuclear weapons in the hands of two countries that have many decades of heated and violent history seems suboptimal. I’d rather nobody had them but that option is sadly not on the table.
The US could demand Israel dismantle their program, but never will.
I mean arguably Trump opened the opportunity for Iran as well. Master class in dumb strategy.
This is what you get when you’re “governed” by people who are convinced that things they don’t know aren’t worth knowing, and care not at all for whether the things they know are in any way related to reality.

@petrillic@hachyderm.io We could hypothetically demand anything, doesn't mean it will happen. AFAIK the only country that previously held nukes and no longer does is Ukraine and look how that worked out for them. The odds of any current nuclear state disarming for any reason are about the same as the odds of Peter Pan being elected prime minister/president/whatever and making it happen.
