@ADHDruid@infosec.exchange I am not saying tech bros don't want slavery back or that their intentions are good. I am saying that you don't interrupt an enemy who is making a mistake. UBI would be a massive mistake for them, but a massive win for everyone else, even if the automated utopia is not as advertised. Strategically, if the pressure to work for someone else evaporates, and the evidence that these guys bring any value evaporates, that's a lot of power that just goes poof. This is to say, I think we should treat their advertised tech utopia as a point of leverage in our favor, and move to take advantage of it.

    @Epic_Null@infosec.exchange see this was my line of thinking for a long time. But at some point, governments will be on their knees due to unemployment. Whether warranted or not. I think, and this is purely anecdotal, that it assumes that people don’t want to work. I have no data, but so many people do good work because they want to, or to give them purpose, companionship etc. So I think it’ll be a little Column A, a little Column B.
