@Epic_Null@infosec.exchange see this was my line of thinking for a long time. But at some point, governments will be on their knees due to unemployment. Whether warranted or not. I think, and this is purely anecdotal, that it assumes that people don’t want to work. I have no data, but so many people do good work because they want to, or to give them purpose, companionship etc. So I think it’ll be a little Column A, a little Column B.

I have no data, but so many people do good work because they want to, or to give them purpose, companionship etc. I'd argue this is a point in my favor. If people want to work and do things, but the pressure for money has been at least significantly reduced, then people stop working for companies that don't respect them, and will likely redirect that time to positions they feel are actually valuble. while the transition would be chaotic, I don't think we'd wind up with an employment crisis on the other end. We'd just have people in very different forms of employment - or taking on work for themselves and their communities. If failure doesn't mean starvation, then why not start your own company? If your living expenses are cared for, why not join that group that's tring to cultivate the native americain bamboo? We'd find the work, especially if we don't have to dismiss anything that doens't have a paycheck large enough to pay for rent.
