A while back when visiting Kelvingrove Museum in Glasgow I heard the haunting sound of a Chinese flute nearby. Today, while visiting the Riverside Museum on my bike I heard it again - it was the same man - so I went to talk to him, only he couldn’t speak English nor I Mandarin. He used his phone translation app and I discovered his name is Gao Xijing, he’s 74 and from Xi’an - and when I told him I’d been to Xi’an to see the Terracotta Army his face lit up! What a lovely encounter! #Strangers
