What we are seeing is a continuation of the car-size-inflation with EV vehicles.
They are getting heavier, bigger and with a push towards higher range batteries (which makes them heavier).
This is driven by the motor industry and its need to continually feed its profits.
For a reset consumers need to be convinced that they don't need the bigger offerings from the mainstream motor industry (often called SUVs) and the left/green movement should, at the same time, celebrate the smaller L7e cars coming out of startups such as the Microlina (Switzerland) and Silence (Spain).
Yes, this is a transition, and it's going to take time - possibly 2 generations - because of the persistence of motornimality in our cultures across the globe
